DESCRIPTION

When DNA Architects was tasked with the Monmouth Service Area project (now renamed the Judy Blume Service Area), the goal was to design and execute a building and interior that was inspired by its surroundings — the iconic Jersey Shore. Although the exterior is modeled after other Garden State Parkway Service Areas that were built prior to this one, the interiors allow patrons to experience a taste of the Jersey Shore, with large-scale wall images, above-dining-area canopy sails, and other themed elements throughout, giving the area a coastal feel. With amenities that feature well-known brands and meet patrons’ travel needs, this service area provides an excellent experience for any motorist along the parkway. The building area is approximately 15,878 square feet, for which DNA Architects acted as the hinge for all consultants.
