DNA Architects was tasked with the Thomas Edison Service Area project to complement its neighboring service area, Grover Cleveland Service Area which is almost directly across the highway. A similar design material language was used to design the Thomas Edison Area, where Finishes such as glass, metal, and composite panels were similarly used. The interior design features large murals of Thomas Edison’s historical inventions, Edison bulbs throughout the space, and a large seating/dining area. With amenities that feature well-known brands and meet patrons’ other travel needs, this service area provides a great experience for any motorist along the turnpike, paying homage to NJ’s Thomas Edison. The building area is approximately 25,420 square feet, for which DNA Architects acted as the hinge for all consultants.
