In partnership with lead design firm Grimshaw Architects and STV Engineering, DNA Architects has helped develop Newark Liberty International Airport’s new Terminal A a reality. The 2.7 billion dollar redevelopment plan features a 1 million square foot T-shaped terminal building with more than thirty gates, marking it as New Jersey’s largest transportation infrastructure design-build project. With a design that has growth in mind, Terminal A will allow for more gates to be added as the airport grows. The design of the terminal aims to feature sleek glass and steel and ample open sight lines to allow for plenty of natural light, establishing itself as one of New York City’s world-class gateways. The design and construction included building extensions, FBE’s, loading docks and sally ports, apron level/tug operation details and planning.
